Certification of the Standards for   Disability Services in Victoria

The Disability Act 2006 requires all registered disability providers to undergo Independent Monitoring to determine that services are providing quality services and meeting the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria.

We are very happy to advise that Health & Disability Auditing Australia Pty Ltd (HDAA), headed by David Hamer, has completed the quality audit in relation to the Victorian Disability Standards and the Quality Framework.  Certification of the Standards for Disability Services in Victoria (SDSV) has been granted from 17 November 2011.

This Certificate will remain in place if schedule conditions are maintained.  Surveillance audits will be carried out periodically to ensure we continue to provide quality services and support continuous improvement.

Independent Monitoring focuses on talking to the people we support and their families and carers, staff and volunteers, as well as looking at the sites and documentation that supports the services we provide.

We would like to thank the Alkira community for your involvement in our quality journey.  We would particularly like to thank the people who agree to be involved in the audit process, and to Alkira’s staff and volunteers whose dedication and hard work is greatly appreciated.

The Audit for Certification Report details the audit findings, achievements, improvements and observations.  If anyone would like to read a summary of the report, please click on the link below.

If you have any questions about the Certification or about quality at Alkira, please contact Ray Cranwell - Chief Executive Officer, or Karen Morton - Quality & Systems Officer.
